Opt out of charges. If you don't specifically opt out of an ancillary charge you will be charged. Extra travel insurance is an example. Similar to protecting your privacy. If you don't specifically notify credit card and financial companies that you want your personal information kept private, they will either use it, sell it, or share it. Privacy protection should be a given, not something we have to go out of our way to obtain.
