Are you kidding me! How can we take politicians seriously when one of the most prominent Democrats makes such an inane remark and then tries to cover it up by calling it a botched joke. What was he thinking.
This is not the first time that Democrats have shot themselves in the foot, only the most recent. If they wish to hurt their cause or campaign, that is their business, but when they give the Republicans a spin opportunity and allow themselves to be played they do us all an injustice and hurt our chances for some positive change.
We need for the best in each party to come out and we have not seen that in a very long time. To the Democrats I say attack the administration's ineffectiveness in fighting the insurgents in Iraq and the failure to bring Bin Laden to justice. Shine a spotlight on the incompetence of the administration when confronted with Katrina. Attack the administration for its efforts to repeal the estate tax and tax dividends at a much lower rate than earned income. These cuts benefit only the rich.
Speak out about affordable health care, stronger gun control, stem cell research, minimum wage increases and strengthening our educational system.
Possibly the Senator was stricken with a sudden spell of giddiness at the thought that the Democrats might actually gain some ground in the upcoming elections.
One response to “A note to Senator Kerry”
Good point. I read with interest in today’s Wall Street Journal and was saddened at his foolish comments.
Boo Hoo for Kerry!
