I don't know what all the fuss is about. The few people that don't already own SUVs & their slightly pudgier cousins,the vans, seem to think that there is something wrong with SUV ownership. Can't they calculate the benefit to the environment and road safety that SUVs bring.
Are they oblivious to the enjoyment of pulling up to a corner and having a SUV block the view of traffic. How about the increased damage to property & person caused by SUVs in auto accidents. Those ingrates.
Lets not forget about the extra pressure put on gasoline supplies by these cute little gas guzzlers. Thank God we can still get a tax break to purchase certain SUVs.
And think of those poor little urban drivers and soccer moms. How could anyone want to deprive them of all that four-wheel drive and extra room? And who would want to deny all those otherwise mild-mannered accountants and lawyers their chance to ride in the next best biggest & baddest weekend war machine. What a bunch of wusses we must be.
One thing to remember is that they are more profitable to the auto industry than mere passenger cars.
