Les Paul,the inventor of the electric guitar and the first multitrack recording device past away today at a very ripe old age.
In addition to being an inventor who had an enormous effect on music and popular culture, Mr. Paul ( Lester William Polfus ) was an accomplished musician winning many Grammys and recording # 1 hits throughout a career of over sixty years.
Mr. Paul was most at home when jamming in clubs (joints as he called them). He said in an AP interview in 2000," It was not being on top. The fun was getting there, not staying there–that's hard work."
